Your Hosts!

Rev. Karen... well you know her professional bio. What you don't know is that she and Dr. Marcia McFee have been friends for twelve years. In the last (almost) two years, they have grown and forged a loving, committed partnership that has filled their lives with joy. The photo below was during the early dating phase when Dr. Marcia joined the CUMC witness in the July 4th parade in 2019. You all would have seen her a lot more at church in 2020 had it not been for the pandemic! Scroll down below the Zoom link to get to know her better. We can't wait to see you on Sunday to share in Christmas fun!

Here's Marcia's "bio" so we can skip right to the Christmas fun at the open house!

Marcia McFee divides her time between Claremont and San Anselmo (SF Bay Area) where she is the professor of worship at San Francisco Theological Seminary. She received her PhD in liturgical studies and ethics from the Graduate Theological Union but loves that she wrote the last chapters of her dissertation while living at Claremont School of Theology in a semester of guest teaching 15 years ago! A cradle United Methodist, she is a well-known leader in United Methodism, having designed and led worship for the 2008 and 2012 General Conferences, as well as countless UMC Annual and Jurisdictional Conferences since the 1990's. Her company, Worship Design Studio, provides resources and education for hundreds of churches across the US, Canada, and the UK representing multiple denominations and she is the author of three books. She grew up in Missouri riding rodeo and honing her skills for her first career: professional dance and theater. She loves reading, writing, singing, films, skiing, and Karen's baking!
